At Houston Methodist, we take pride in our community and work to connect you to patient support groups and other available resources to help you and your family manage the journey through heart and vascular treatment and aftercare.
The American Heart Association
The American Heart Association provides various online support groups around such heart topics as “Just Diagnosed,” “Recovering from Bypass Surgery” and “Preparing for Surgery.” View a list of groups or find resources for caregivers.
Heart Failure Support Group
We believe that living successfully with heart failure is possible with the right support. For this reason, we offer a virtual Heart Failure Support Group that meets on the second Wednesday of every month. From the comfort of your home, you can connect with various individuals who share common medical issues and who are continuing their efforts to successfully overcome them. During these sessions, Houston Methodist experts, from various disciplines, present interesting and engaging heart failure topics. Interaction is encouraged so that you as well as your significant others can ask questions and participate in discussions with other attendees.
Contact Wayne Brewer by phone or text at 832.215.0456 or by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to find out how you can participate in the next Heart Failure Support Group meeting.
WomenHeart (the National Coalition of Women with Heart Disease) has created a network of support resources for women with heart disease. They host an online support community, and you can also search for chapter meetings in your area.
