Jennifer: With Heart Tumor Removed, Gratitude Only for Cardio Team

When Jennifer was diagnosed with angiosarcoma, which is cancer of the inner lining of blood vessels, her doctors began searching for an expert in the field of heart tumors. “Naturally, the name Michael Reardon came up immediately,” she recalls. When Jennifer called his office regarding a consult, she found herself speaking with Dr. Michael Reardon  himself later that very same day. Just one week later, she was sitting in his office at Houston Methodist.

“That first consultation with Dr. Reardon was very comforting,” Jennifer says. “The worst part of being in that situation is fear of the unknown, and he was able to alleviate a lot of my stress.” Dr. Reardon was able to connect Jennifer with the MD Anderson Cancer Center and Dr. Monika Leja. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Reardon performed a successful removal of the tumor.

Following the procedure, Jennifer had this to say about her experience at Houston Methodist, “I just cannot say enough wonderful things about this team. Not only are they all outstanding in terms of expertise, but they’re quality people as well. They cared for me physically, emotionally and spiritually. They simply excel at everything they do.”
