After completion of his postdoctoral training, Dr. Mathis joined the faculty of the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He later became the Director of the Adult Reconstruction Fellowship Program there, as well as the Section Chief for Joint Replacement. Dr. Mathis' research has been published in the orthopedic medical literature and he has contributed several text book chapters.

Description of Research

Dr. Mathis' research focuses on total knee and total hip arthroplasty, and using cadaveric and computer simulation to assist in implant positioning.
