Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Houston Methodist Hospital, we are committed to an inclusive work and learning environment.  On an institutional and programmatic level, we strive to provide our learners with a supportive learning environment where we celebrate our different backgrounds and identities and stand strong against racism and biases in medicine.  We welcome any resident to join our diverse Internal medicine Program.

In collaboration with our academic affiliate Texas A&M and our own office for DEI, we continue to develop a curriculum for our residents including topics such as micro aggressions at the workplace, social and racial disparities in medicine and biases in medical education.  Our goal is to train our residents to become culturally inclusive and competent practicing physicians.
