Biography

Dr. Jonathan Shum earned his dental degree from the University of Toronto School of Dentistry in Canada and received his medical degree at Weill Cornell University Medical College in New York, New York. He completed his internship in general surgery and residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital which is affiliated with Cornell. He completed his fellowship in maxillofacial oncology and microvascular reconstructive surgery at Emanuel Medical Center in Portland, Oregon and the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Board certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Shum has clinical interests that include oral, head and neck oncology, microvascular reconstruction and facial trauma. He treats patients of all ages and speaks Cantonese.

In practice since 2005, Dr. Shum provides comprehensive care of the face, neck and mouth; from facial trauma to rehabilitation following cancer surgery. His philosophy is to empower his patients with an understanding of their condition and to provide high quality, compassionate care.
