Biography

Dr. Buergler joined the Section of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 1999 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine, a position held until 2005 when he joined The Methodist Hospital Physician Organization. As a clinical interventional cardiologist, Dr. Buergler has become an expert in alcohol septal ablation, a therapeutic procedure used to relieve the dynamic outflow track obstruction in patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy.

Description of Research

Dr. Buergler´s research interest is in the development of better techniques for improving the results of alcohol septal ablation, including the use of magnetic-guided stereotaxis catheterization.
