Nephrology Division
The Division of Nephrology is dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by kidney disease through our patient-centered approach to medicine. This approach includes cutting-edge treatments and technologies and upholding the Houston Methodist I CARE values.
For example, our division is proud to announce our new Glomerular Diseases Program. This program, led by Shane Bobart, MD, FASN, will provide patients with access to cutting edge, multi-disciplinary, compassionate, and individualized glomerular disease care. Additionally, patients will receive care from other Houston Methodist clinicians as needed, including experts in rheumatology, hematology, infectious diseases, cardiology and pulmonology.
Conditions treated in the Glomerular Diseases Program include:
- Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis
- Membranous nephropathy
- IgA nephropathy
- Diabetic kidney disease
- Minimal change disease
- Immune complex mediated disease
- Anti-glomerular basement membrane disease
- ANCA associated vasculitis
- Lupus nephritis
