Nurse Practitioner Program
Nurse practitioners at Houston Methodist are truly leading medicine and nursing. Assigned to units rather than individual doctors, NPs at Houston Methodist have the opportunity to impact the care of all of our patients. In addition to clinical care, Houston Methodist NPs serve as leaders and mentors to bedside nurses and partner with physicians to ensure the best patient outcomes.
At Houston Methodist, NPs lead the life-saving Clinical Emergency Response Team. This team has worked to decrease the number of cardiac arrests outside of an intensive care unit. Houston Methodist NPs also work toward decreasing length of stay, lowering complication rates and providing additional coverage for doctors, especially during the late night and weekend hours.
