Lung Center Team

The Houston Methodist Lung Center team combines our extensive pulmonary expertise with the center’s skilled vascular, cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, cytopathologists, immunobiologists, respiratory therapists, neurologists, cardiologists and rheumatologists in an outpatient setting.

 

Zeenat Safdar, MD, interim director of Houston Methodist Lung Center, is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonology. She has special interest and expertise in pulmonary hypertension and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

 

Dr. Thalia Casimire, MD is board certified in pulmonary disease, sleep medicine, internal medicine critical care medicine. Dr. Casimire has a special interest in sleep disorders.

 

Dr. Muralikrishn Chelikani, MD is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Chelikani has a special interest in general pulmonology.

 

Dr. Leonard Chow, MD is board certified in pulmonology, internal medicine and sleep medicine. Dr. Chow has a special interest in COPD, asthma, lung cancer and sleep disorders.

 

Alberto Colomer, MD is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary and critical care medicine. He has interest in pulmonary hypertension, specifically in chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. 

Tim Connolly, MD is board certified in pulmonary and critical care medicine. He has special interest and expertise in COPD and interventional pulmonary medicine. 

Carl Dahlberg, MD is board certified in internal, pulmonary and critical care medicine. Dr. Dahlberg is a seasoned clinician and expert teacher with special interest and expertise in asthma and COPD

Clinton Doerr, MD is board certified in pulmonary and critical care medicine and accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He has special interest and expertise in sleep-disordered breathing and COPD.

Ahmad Goodarzi, MDis board certified in internal and pulmonary medicine and board eligible in critical care with special training in the assessment of and management of lung transplant patients. He has special interest in advanced endoscopic procedures for the diagnosis and therapy of malignant and benign thoracic diseases. 
 
Venessa Holland, MD is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary, occupational and critical care medicine. Dr. Holland has special interest and expertise in occupational lung disease and neuromuscular respiratory disorders.
 
Dr. Gregory Honeycutt, MD is board certified in pulmonology, sleep medicine and critical care

Lisa Kopas, MD is board certified in internal, pulmonary and critical care medicine. She has special interest and expertise in asthma, COPD and interventional pulmonary medicine.   
 
Dr. Rayman Lee, MD is board certified in pulmonology, sleep medicine and critical care.

Jayasimha Murthy, MD is board certified in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine. Dr. Murthy has special interest and expertise in pulmonary fibrosis, interstitial lung disease and sleep disorders.  

Julie Nguyen, MD is board certified in internal, pulmonary and sleep medicine. She has special interest in sleep-disordered breathing and COPD.

Ghassan Noureddine, MD is board certified in internal, pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine. Dr. Noureddine has special interest in asthma, allergies and sleep-disordered breathing.
 
Dr. Philip Lynn Pirtle, MD is board certified in pulmonology, sleep medicine and critical care.
 

Dr. Hammad Qureshi, MD is board certified in pulmonology disease, internal medicine and critical care. Dr. Qureshi has a special interest is in asthma, COPD and lung Cancer.

 

Sandeep Sahay, MD is board certified in pulmonary and critical care medicine. He has special interest and expertise in pulmonary hypertension and sarcoidosis.

 
Jose Fernando Santacruz, MD, is board certified in internal, pulmonary and critical care medicine. Dr. Santacruz has special interest in advanced endoscopic and minimally invasive procedures for diagnosis and therapy of malignant and benign thoracic diseases. He has particular clinical interest in lung cancer, pulmonary nodules, lung cancer staging, tracheobronchomalacia, bronchoscopic therapy of COPD and benign airway stenosis.  
  
Aparajitha Verma, MD, co-director of Houston Methodist Neurological Institute Sleep Disorders Clinic, is board certified in neurology, clinical neurophysiology and sleep medicine. Dr. Verma’s interests include sleep disorders and neurological disorders associated with respiratory and sleep disturbance.
 
Jihad Georges Youssef, MD is board certified in internal, pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine. Dr. Youssef’s interests include lung transplantation and sleep-disordered breathing.
