Patient and Family Bereavement
Chaplains provide bereavement support for patients and their families whenever there's a loss. We understand that this can be a painful experience, and we want you to know that you are not alone.
The loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or other means represents an occasion of profound sadness and grief. Our chaplains respond to parents with compassionate listening, spiritual and emotional support, and bereavement education.
As an expression of our faith-based identity and I CARE values, we offer various types of bereavement support to hospital staff members following a family member's death. Support is also available to families following the death of any current Houston Methodist employee. Departmental directors or managers should make requests for employee bereavement support.
