How To Apply
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Houston Methodist Hospital located in the Texas Medical Center!
To begin the process, please complete a Volunteer Profile through our Volunteer Portal. Please note that the onboarding process can take up to six weeks depending on various factors. The six week application and onboarding process does not count toward the volunteer time commitment requirement.
We ask that once you create a volunteer profile, that you complete the required steps asked of a volunteer in a timely manner to avoid any delays in the onboarding process. Once your profile is reviewed, you will be receiving updates regarding the next steps via email. All correspondence will be done through email so please plan to check your inbox frequently.
For teens aged 15-18, currently in high school, please visit our Caring Teen page.

Observing and shadowing opportunities are not offered or permitted through the Houston Methodist Hospital Volunteer Services Department.
COVID-19 Update
Effective December 1, 2023, Houston Methodist Volunteer Services will no longer require volunteers to be vaccinated for COVID-19 as a requirement to volunteer at Houston Methodist. Houston Methodist Volunteer Services has always put the safety of patients, employees, and volunteers first. We will continue to encourage volunteers to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, but it will no longer be mandated at Houston Methodist.
