Nancy Green

When the book Nancy Green was reading suddenly became a jumble of meaningless letters, she woke her husband and asked specifically to be taken to Houston Methodist Kenneth R. Peak Brain and Pituitary Treatment Center. There, the team discovered Nancy had a tumor in the area of her brain that controlled speech and interpretation of words. Due to the delicate location of the tumor and potential for collateral damage during surgery, a craniotomy was performed while she was awake. In the operating room, a team of doctors worked in concert with Nancy, who was alert and responsive, using leading-edge technology to safely resect the tumor. Watch as Nancy, her husband and her physicians tell her story.
