Empowering Our Communities

The Nonmedical Drivers of Health (NMDOH) Grant Program supports community programs that address nonmedical barriers to health care and drive positive health outcomes. The grant has two priority pillars: Healthy Neighborhoods and Education and Economic Empowerment.

Healthy Neighborhoods

Access to healthy food, safe and consistent housing, and transportation are key drivers of health outcomes. Nonprofit programs applying under the Healthy Neighborhoods pillar are addressing these needs in the community through provision of direct services, direct assistance and case management.

Education & Economic Empowerment

Household income and access to job and career opportunities can directly impact health outcomes for families. The Education and Economic Empowerment pillar funds community programs that support economic mobility and career pathways through adult education, job certification and upskilling, financial education, small business support and asset building.
