Digital Learning Boards (DLB)

Challenging work environments, disengagement, and lack of voice are common factors that contribute to burnout in all occupational settings. Tools developed by implementation science and process improvement experts may hold a key to minimizing frustration, giving the frontline a voice, and enhancing team work and communication.

The Houston Methodist Digital Learning Board (DLB) Initiative uses an innovative implementation science tool called the Learning & Engagement System (LENSTM), to make clinical work safer, highly reliable, more visible, and clear.

Using DLBs for daily operational management and huddles, teams can:

  • Share key discussion topics securely
  • Voice and capture concerns easily
  • Prioritize efforts with timely insights into performance
  • Collaborate, communicate, manage and work together to take action
