Houston Methodist Baytown Longitudinal APPE Program

About Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital

Houston Methodist Baytown is a full-service, acute care, 340B hospital serving communities in Harris, Chambers, Liberty, and surrounding counties. Through the years, our hospital has grown with the community, enhancing and expanding technology and services every step of the way.  With even further planned ongoing development of the campus starting in 2020, Houston Methodist Baytown will continue its mission of providing unparalleled safety, quality, service and innovation to the communities we serve for many years to come and will grow to a capacity of 400 beds. The state-of-the-art programs and services offered include minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgery, cancer care, heart and vascular, neurosciences, gastroenterology, orthopedics & sports medicine, and women’s health. Our pharmacy leadership team includes the pharmacy director, operational manager, clinical manager, and administrative assistant. LAPPE students will have the opportunity to work with Houston Methodist Baytown’s six clinical specialists and staff pharmacists in ongoing clinical, scholarly, and service activities such as patient counseling, completing clinical consults, and working with other healthcare professionals to perform other clinical duties. The LAPPE program is designed to train student pharmacists to provide quality patient-centered care, integrating Houston Methodist’s ICARE values (integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence).
