Kyle Stanzel named new CEO of Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital
Kyle Stanzel, vice president and chief operating officer at Houston Methodist West Hospital, will become the next CEO of Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital April 6.
Stanzel will succeed Carl Little, who was recently named CEO of Houston Methodist West.
Stanzel has over 18 years of experience in health care. He joined Houston Methodist West in 2018 and currently oversees day-to-day operations, facility growth and development. While there, Stanzel helped the team become Leapfrog A and a Vizient Top 10 nationally ranked hospital from 2018-2025. He previously spent more than a decade with Memorial Hermann Health System, where he served in many roles, including vice president of operations at Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital.
“It is an honor and a privilege to step into this role. I am committed to advancing Houston Methodist’s mission of delivering the highest standards of safety and quality care to our patients,” Stanzel said. “I look forward to joining the Houston Methodist Clear Lake family and continuing to strengthen our impact across Clear Lake and surrounding communities.”
Stanzel is a graduate of Texas A&M University and holds a Master of Business Administration from Duke University. While there, he led a team designing low-cost, sustainable medical devices for hospitals in developing countries, discovering his passion for health care along the way.
“Kyle Stanzel is a dynamic, highly respected leader who brings extensive experience and knowledge to the position,” said Marc L. Boom, M.D., president and CEO of Houston Methodist. “During his tenure, Kyle has dedicated himself to improving the quality of care for our patients. We are excited to see the hospital continue to serve the Clear Lake community and grow under his leadership.”
