Athletic Training Residency at Houston Methodist Sugar Land
The mission of the Houston Methodist Sugar Land Athletic Training Residency is to advance the knowledge of an athletic training practitioner through a comprehensive program of clinical and didactic education utilizing an evidence-based approach to enhance the evaluation, treatment, and sports specific return to play of injured athletes.  The athletic training resident will have a unique experience working and learning from sports medicine practitioners during each facet of the orthopedic rehabilitation process, thus promoting inter-professional collaboration. Residents will be community leaders in treating the athletic population through advanced evaluation and treatment skills.

Purpose: This athletic training residency program will provide athletic trainers with advanced knowledge and manual techniques in orthopedic rehabilitation with a focus on creating community leaders in high school athletic training.

Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE)
Our athletic training physical therapy program is one of just six programs accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) in the country.
