Logo Usage Guidelines
Please use the logo for the hospital, entity or center of excellence you are a part of. Corporate departments should use the logo for Houston Methodist (with Leading Medicine). Also, when a locator, such as Texas Medical Center, isn’t necessary, the preferred logo is Houston Methodist (with Leading Medicine). Please review the brand guidelines for logo usage before placing them into your documents.

Selecting a file type
For professionally printing (for designers, printers and other vendors): EPS (transparent background)
For desktop publishing: EPS or JPG
For Microsoft Office usage: JPG or PNG (transparent background)
Note: If a vendor requests an Illustrator file or a vector file, he or she is referring to an EPS. Although there are nonvector EPS files, all EPS files on this website are vector files. All EPS files have been saved down to Illustrator CS2. In Internet Explorer, the extension on an EPS file gets changed from .eps to .ps when the file is downloaded. Rename the file (in Windows select the file and select F2) by changing the .ps back to .eps.

Tips:
Placing logos into your document
In Microsoft Office documents, do not copy and paste images from Windows Photo Viewer into your document. This may reduce the clarity of the graphic or it may alter color and other attributes. Insert your image or logo using insert on the menu and select picture. Then select the image that has been saved to your computer or shared drive.
Opening an EPS file
Most likely, you will not be able to open EPS files unless you have software programs, such as Photoshop or Illustrator. You can open an EPS in Acrobat Reader if you want to be able to view the file. However, you DO NOT need to open the file in order to insert it into your document, which will also allow you to view it.
Resizing logos
Do not stretch logos, graphics and photos out of proportion. In Windows, hold down the Shift key while resizing the graphic.
