Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital donates power banks to Tomball ISD in support of disaster preparedness program
Representatives from Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital recently donated more than 200 power banks to Tomball ISD in support of the school district’s disaster preparedness program.
The power banks, which were distributed at an in-service last month, will help to keep the district’s teachers and administrators’ phones charged in the event of an emergency or natural disaster when power is limited.
“We enjoy a great relationship with Tomball ISD. During a disaster, we understand how important it is to be able to communicate with each other and with students and parents,” said Keith Barber, CEO of Houston Methodist Willowbrook and senior vice president of Houston Methodist. “It is our pleasure to be able to provide these power banks so that our community’s educators and administrators can stay in communication and distribute vital information to students and parents without having to worry about the battery life running out on their phones and iPads.”
To commemorate the event, Houston Methodist Willowbrook team members posed outside with the Tomball ISD educators for a drone overhead photo. The educators stood in the shape of a heart with Houston Methodist Willowbrook team members in the center.
