Arthy Yoga, MD, a board-certified breast surgical oncologist, has joined the Houston Methodist Cancer Center at Willowbrook. Yoga received her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, and completed a general surgery residency at Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island.

Following a breast surgical oncology fellowship at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Yoga received advanced training in oncoplastic breast surgery techniques at Clinique Bizet in Paris. Returning to the States, she has held breast surgical positions at Southern Regional Hospital in Atlanta; Bethesda Health, Baptist South Florida in Boynton Beach; and Texas Breast Specialists in Houston.

“Houston Methodist Willowbrook has an outstanding reputation for collaboration and approaching every patient’s case from a multidisciplinary standpoint,” said Yoga. “I am excited to be part of a team that works together to develop the best possible outcome for every unique diagnosis.”

Yoga specializes in a variety of breast diseases and procedures, including breast cancer, BRCA gene mutations, high risk, benign breast disease, lumpectomy, mastectomy, nipple-sparing mastectomy, sentinel node biopsy, oncoplastic surgery, breast biopsy, ultrasound-guided breast aspiration, and APBI catheter placement.

“I love the work that I do to help women make the best decisions for themselves and their health,” Yoga said. “Breast surgery is a highly personal matter that can leave some women feeling disconnected from their femininity, and I hope that I can educate women on their options, so they leave our hospital still feeling like themselves.”
