Dr. Zachary Englander is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in the treatment of spinal disorders. He earned both his Masters in Biomedical Sciences and Doctor of Medicine degrees from Columbia University. He completed his neurosurgical residency at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/New York-Presbyterian Hospital under the mentorship of Drs. Dean Chou and Paul McCormick, where he served as Chief Resident. During his residency, he completed an NIH-funded postdoctoral research fellowship investigating novel drug delivery methods for malignant central nervous system tumors.

As part of his training, Dr. Englander served as a Royal College of Surgeons Fellow in Complex Spine Surgery at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London, widely regarded as the world’s first dedicated neurosurgical hospital. He subsequently completed advanced fellowship training in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital under the direction of Drs. Michael Wang and Allan Levi.

Dr. Englander has particular expertise in minimally invasive, endoscopic, and motion preservation surgery. He also has extensive experience treating tumors of the spinal column, cervical spine disorders, complex spinal deformity, and syringomyelia.
