He earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and completed his neurosurgery residency at the Houston Methodist Neurological Institute. He pursued advanced fellowship training in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery at St. George's University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London, and further fellowship training at Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas in Austin.
