About Dr. Kate Travis
Dr. Kate Travis is a board-certified psychiatrist with the Houston Methodist Behavioral Health Clinic. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society Award for her dedication and commitment to compassion and humanism in medicine. She completed her residency in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of California – San Francisco, where she graduated with an Area of Distinction in Women's Mental Health for her clinical, research, and educational projects related to women's mental health. At UCSF, she served as Chief Resident of Outpatient Services and received the Outstanding Teaching Award for her contributions clinical and didactic education.
Dr. Kate Travis is certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and licensed to practice in Texas. She practices in the Houston Methodist Emotional Health and Wellbeing Clinic, where she provides psychiatric care to Houston Methodist employees and their family members. She also practices in the Houston Methodist Complexity Clinic, providing comprehensive psychiatric assessments and multidisciplinary, team-based treatment for patients with complex and difficult-to-treat mental health conditions. Dr. Kate Travis additionally provides SAINT (Stanford Accelerated Intelligent Neuromodulation Therapy), an accelerated, personalized form of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for patients with treatment-resistant depression.
