Damiano G. Barone, MD, PhD, FRCS(SN), is a multi-awarded neurosurgeon specializing in complex brain, spine, and peripheral nerve conditions. He has dual fellowships in Functional and Complex Epilepsy Surgery from the Walton Centre and Peripheral Nerve Surgery from the Mayo Clinic. He completed his residency at Cambridge University Hospitals in England.
Dr. Barone holds a BSc in Mathematics and earned a PhD in Clinical Neurosciences and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on brain-machine interfaces and advanced bioelectronics. He leads a multimillion-dollar funded research group at the forefront of neuroscience and technology, developing innovative solutions to restore lost neurological functions. Dr. Barone is a senior author of high-impact papers and holds multiple patents in his field.
