LAPPE students will have the opportunity to work with Houston Methodist West’s pharmacy team in ongoing clinical, scholarly, and service activities such as obtaining medication histories, completing clinical consults, and providing direct patient care with nurses, advanced level nurse practitioners, and attending level providers. Our pharmacy team consists of our pharmacy director, one board certified pharmacy manager, six board certified clinical specialists, and eighteen staff pharmacists which consists of two board certified pharmacists who rotate between our integrated clinical pharmacist position and transitions of care. The LAPPE program is designed to train student pharmacists to provide quality patient-centered care, integrating Houston Methodist’s ICARE values (integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence).
