About Dr. Shafiq Prasla
Dr. Shafiq Prasla, DPM AACFAS is a proud local Houstonian who is a highly trained, board certified foot and ankle surgeon. His professional aspirations began at the University of Houston, where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. During his undergraduate studies, he became fascinated in foot and ankle medicine. He then pursued his doctorate education in Cleveland, Ohio at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine.
His passion for foot and ankle medicine continued at a rigorous residency training program in Oakland, California at Kaiser Permanente. Dr. Prasla trained in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery under highly-qualified leaders in the profession. His passion includes forefoot, rearfoot and ankle reconstructive surgery including trauma. His professional interests are sports medicine, total ankle replacement and deformity corrections such as flatfoot, high arch foot and Charcot arthropathy.
Dr. Prasla enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, watching Houston sports and spending time with family.
