About Dr. Onya V. Lemar
Dr. Onya V. Lemar graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. She then completed a three year reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and limb salvage residency training in Houston, TX, where she served as Chief Resident and was the recipient of multiple distinguished surgical and teaching awards. Dr. Lemar's reputation of her surgical talent exceeded past the field of foot and ankle surgery, in which she was personally selected to assist renowned bariatric surgeon, Younan Nowzardan, MD, and was featured on multiple episodes of the 2015 season of popular TLC show, "My 600lb Life." Dr. Lemar has also published several journal articles and research displays. She is an uprising star amongst her colleagues in the field of podiatric surgery and has extensive training in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, complex diabetic limb salvage, limb deformity corrections/revisions, as well a strong professional interest in sports medicine and foot aesthetics.
Dr. Lemar is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and will be double board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery. She is certified in Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment of the Foot and Ankle. She is an active member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and also serves as clinical faculty in the academic and surgical training of podiatric residents in the Houston area.
Dr. Lemar is committed to serving her community and understands the importance of making the patient the priority, not what the insurance company covers. Dr. Lemar embraces everyone with her charming and compassionate spirit, consistent with the character of her native city of New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University and an avid sports enthusiast.
