My philosophy of patient care centers around exceptional patient-provider relationships, communication, trust, patience, patient education, prevention, and teamwork. As a provider I strive to deliver high quality patient care that is both supportive and personable. With the utilization of evidence-based medicine, my goal includes collaboration with my patients, to provide the best possible outcomes and treatment plans for their overall care.

Ashamarah Heath is the PA-C to Dr. Pedro T. Ramirez - Chair in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Houston Methodist Hospital. Ashamarah is a board-certified Physician Assistant who was born and raised in Houston, TX. To begin her academic career, she attended The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Medical Humanities, with a Pre-Medicine Concentration, and Biology Minor - in which she graduated Cum Laude. During her time at UTSA, she completed a range of observerships including but not limited to procedural dermatology with a focus of assessment of various skin cancers. Along with partaking in multiple patient care volunteering opportunities that includes time spent at The University of Texas Cancer Therapy and Research Center as a Medical Oncology Clinic Volunteer. Ms. Heath completed an internship at The UT-Health CPRIT Summer Research Undergraduate Innovation in Cancer Prevention in Houston, TX where she actively prepared and presented research using qualitative data and literature review to develop an interactive application for providers to improve HPV vaccination practices within a clinical environment. To further expand her educational knowledge, she attended The University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley where she earned her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies.
