Financial Assistance 

Houston Methodist is committed to providing financial assistance to patients who are uninsured or underinsured  and who are ineligible for a government program, or who are otherwise unable to pay for medically necessary care, including emergency medical care. Our Financial Assistance Policy provides information on how to apply, eligible services, eligibility criteria and the approval process. For your convenience, Houston Methodist has included a plain language summary of this policy as well as the financial assistance application. 

At Houston Methodist, we expect patients who have the ability to pay for their health care costs to pay their bills in full and on time. We also understand that some patients may need more time to pay their bills, and so we offer an interest-free payment plan option providing patients with up to 18 months to pay off their balance.   See Extended Payment Plan Policy document below.
