The general cancer support group hosted by Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital provides education and camaraderie to help cancer patients cope with loneliness, anxiety and distress. Participation in the support group also can help increase feelings of empowerment and teach participants new ways to cope.

“Navigating everything that’s involved with a cancer diagnosis is often stressful and isolating,” said Cassandra Green, oncology nurse navigator at Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital. “This group offers survivors encouragement, tips for daily living, and emotional support to help them overcome the impact of their disease and treatment. We want to remain engaged with survivors throughout the pandemic, so this group is held virtually, allowing us to connect from the safety of our own homes.”

The support group is offered the third Monday of every month at Noon on a virtual platform, with the next one coming up on Monday, April 18.
