The Houston Dynamo named Timothy Sitter, M.D., with Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, as their new chief medical officer and head team physician. As the head team physician for the Dynamo, Sitter will be involved in the club’s day-to-day activities to help prevent, evaluate and treat injuries. He will be on the sidelines for all of the Dynamo’s home games at BBVA Compass Stadium.

“The Dynamo are a first-class organization, and I am thrilled to be involved with the club,” Sitter said. “As someone who played soccer from my youth through college, I have always been a fan of the Dynamo, and it’s a tremendous honor to support these dedicated athletes and help them remain match-fit and healthy.

Sitter earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Texas Medical School and a sports medicine and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the University of Oklahoma. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.

In addition to Dynamo players and staff, Sitter will also work with David Braunreiter, M.D., the team’s primary care physician. Braunreiter, a primary care sports medicine physician who also practices at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, has served as a team physician since the Dynamo’s inception and is responsible for the players’ primary care needs and concussion management. Braunreiter also serves as a physician member of Major League Soccer’s Concussion Committee.

Houston Methodist serves as the official health care provider for the Houston Dynamo, Houston Texans, Houston Astros, RodeoHouston and Rice University Athletics. For an appointment with Drs.
