All seven Houston Methodist acute care hospitals are top performers in the Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership annual rankings by Vizient, which provides a national hospital scorecard focused on safety and quality metrics. Six Houston Methodist hospitals made the top five in their respective surveys, and, for the first time, Houston Methodist Hospital finished in the top 5 in its cohort.

 

Measures used to determine rankings include safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient centeredness and equity. This year’s rankings include:

  • Comprehensive Academic Medical Centers – Houston Methodist Hospital ranked No. 4 out of 115 hospitals
  • Large, Specialized Complex Care Medical Centers – Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital ranked No. 2 out of 177 hospitals
  • Complex Care Medical Centers (ranking out of 204 hospitals)
    • Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital ranked No. 1
    • Houston Methodist West Hospital ranked No. 2
    • Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital ranked No. 3
    • Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital ranked No. 4
  • Community Hospitals – Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital ranked No. 14 out of 364 hospitals
