Yee Lee Cheah, MD, FACS, is Director of the Robotic Living Donor Liver Program in the Department of Surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital. She leads the institution's pioneering robotic liver transplantation efforts, advancing minimally invasive techniques to enhance donor safety and recipient outcomes. As the inaugural leader of the robotic liver transplant program, Dr. Cheah has overseen more than 30 robotic donor–recipient transplant pairs, achieving outcomes that exceed national benchmarks. Dr. Cheah graduated with honors from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2000, earned her AFRCS in 2003, completed her general surgery residency at Brown University in 2008, and her ASTS-accredited fellowship in Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery at the Lahey Clinic in 2010.
