Dr. Palmer is a Board-Certified General Surgeon specializing in robotic surgery with an emphasis on foregut, colorectal and has a passion for abdominal wall hernias. He is well regarded for his use of minimally invasive surgical procedures with state-of-the-art technology to optimize his patient’s outcome and recovery. Dr. Palmer prides himself on his bedside manner, attention to detail, and dedication to hands-on personalized care.
Dr. Palmer is a partner with Memorial Katy Surgical Associates and holds membership in several professional organizations including the American College of Surgeons, the American Hernia Society, Texas Medical Association and Harris County Medical Society. He also serves on the Memorial Hermann Peer Review Committee, the Bylaws Committee, the Memorial Hermann System Supply Chain & Biologics CPC committee and was recently voted 2021 “Co-Physician of the Year” by the Memorial Hermann Memorial City OR staff.
He completed his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at Texas Christian University. He received his Medical Degree at the University of Texas at Houston Medical School where he was awarded the distinction of 2013 Medical Student of the Year for the UT-Houston Department of Surgery. He also earned a Scholarly Concentration in Clinical Quality, Safety & Evidence – Based Medicine. Following medical school he completed his General Surgery residency at the Hiram C. Polk Department of Surgery at the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY.
Dr. Palmer is a native Texan & Houstonian and enjoys spending time with his wife, Claire, and their two daughters. They spend their free time at their family ranch in Chappell Hill, traveling Texas in search of the best BBQ joints, rooting for TCU sports, and fly-fishing.
