About Dr. Nabil Tariq

Nabil Tariq, MD, FACS, is board‑certified in General Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, and Obesity Medicine, and has expertise in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery.
He received his medical degree from the Aga Khan University Medical College and completed a surgical residency at William Beaumont Hospital – Royal Oaks in Michigan. He completed two fellowships: Minimally Invasive & Bariatric Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Tariq currently serves as the Bariatric Surgery Medical Director at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, where he leads comprehensive metabolic and weight‑loss surgical programs. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery within the Academic Institute at Houston Methodist, affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine.
