Dr. Murtaza Arif is a board certified gastroenterologist with over 10 years of clinical experience. He moved to Houston in 2016 and within a short period has developed a solid reputation as an exceptional gastroenterologist in the area.
Dr. Arif received Internal Medicine residency training from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He then completed his Gastroenterology fellowship from the University of Missouri and advanced training in therapeutic endoscopy at Geisinger Medical Center. He has authored or co-authored several peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, research studies and case reports in Gastroenterology. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). He is an active staff member of Houston Methodist West hospital.
Dr Arif specializes in the treatment of all gastrointestinal diseases including acid reflux/heartburn, celiac disease, peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel disease (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, anemia, hemorrhoids, gallstone and biliary diseases. He is passionate about screening and prevention of colon cancer in the population. Dr. Arif’s practice philosophy centers on providing quality care with empathy. His goal is to provide patients access to quality care and state-of-the-art treatment within their community. He is currently accepting new patients.
Dr Arif has a young family with two adorable boys. Outside work, he likes traveling and is actively involved with several organizations for community welfare.
