About Dr. Michael Atkinson Norman
"I enjoy helping patients and their families through the process of emergent and urgent surgery. Being involved in caring for someone who comes to the hospital with an emergent surgical need and getting them back home to their family is one of the perks of being a surgeon."
Michael A. Norman, MD, FACS holds dual board certifications from the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and Surgery Critical Care. His clinical interests include abdominal surgery, emergency general surgery, trauma/critical care, and surgical infections/sepsis.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, after completing residency in General Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston and residency in Critical Care at Grady Memorial Hospital, Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta.
