Dr. Olivero completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident. He completed his training at BCM with his Fellowship in Nephrology.
Having over 30 years experience in Nephrology, he is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at both Baylor College of Medicine and The University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is a Specialist in Clinical Hypertension as appointed by the American Society of Hypertension.
Dr. Olivero is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology. He is the medical director at DaVita Med Center, one of the nation’s largest dialysis facilities, as well as DaVita Binz. He is actively involved in the education of the Internal Medicine residents at Houston Methodist Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical College.
Dr. Olivero has received numerous individual teaching and professional accolades, ranging from his time as a full-time faculty member at Baylor College of Medicine to his current position at Houston Methodist Hospital. Dr. Olivero has once been voted by his peers to be amongst the best Nephrologists in Houston for 10 years consecutively. He was the first recipient of the James Overstreet award at Houston Methodist Hospital, given annually to the physician voted to be the most compassionate and caring by the staff of the hospital.
