Dr. Kagan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brandeis University with a Bachelor of Science in both Physics and Chemistry. Â She received her Doctorate of Medicine and Doctorate of Philosophy at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she was inducted to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Â She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the world renowned Massachusetts General Hospital. Â Dr. Kagan then completed her Fellowship in Nephrology at Baylor College of Medicine. Â
Dr. Kagan is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is a Specialist in Clinical Hypertension. Â She is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, a member of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Society of Transplantation. Â Dr. Kagan is one of two transplant nephrologists here at Houston Kidney Consultants, chairing the Transplant Medical Safety Quality Management committee for the Houston Methodist Hospital. Â
Dr. Kagan has received numerous accolades, being named a Top 300 Physician in Houston in 2012 by Health and Fitness Sports Magazine, receiving the Patients' Choice Award from Vitals.com in 2013, being recognized as a Rising Star by Super Doctors in 2015 and 2016 and also a Top Doctor in Houstonia Magazine in 2017.
