COVID‑19 Front Line Heroes Appreciation Program

THANK YOU, HEROES

Roughly 5,000 Houston Methodist employees are on the front lines of the battle against COVID‑19–from nurses and clinical support staff to lab techs, test readers and those who ensure hospital rooms are properly sanitized and that patients have good food during their stay. To show our gratitude, we have established the COVID‑19 Front Line Heroes Appreciation Program.

HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP

1) Support Houston Methodist's COVID-19 Front Line Heroes Appreciation Program

This innovative $4 million initiative uses philanthropic gifts to reward and honor the roughly 6,000 front line Houston Methodist staff with:
  • a COVID-19 Hero Appreciation Day (eight to 12 hours of paid time off)
  • Meal On Us ($100 bonus to enjoy a meal on us)

This special philanthropic initiative to thank you for your dedication was initiated through the generosity of multiple Houston Methodist benefactors: Wendy and Ben Moreland, Mary and Ron Neal, the Jerold B. Katz Foundation, the Houston Astros Foundation, Steve and Pat Chazen, Christine and David M. Underwood Jr., Great Southwest Paper Company, and Dr. Marc Boom's direction of funds from the Ella Fondren and Josie Roberts Presidential Distinguished Centennial Chair. All gifts to the Houston Methodist COVID-19 Front Line Heroes Appreciation Program, up to the first $1 million, will be matched, doubling their philanthropic impact.

You can make a contribution to the program here. (Share a message of support with front line staff when making your gift by selecting the “I would like to add a note with my gift” option in the payment section.)

2) Share Your Message of Support with Houston Methodist COVID-19 Front Line Heroes

  • When making a contribution to the COVID-19 Front Line Heroes Appreciation Program, select “I would like to add a note with my gift” in the payment section.
  • Post your notes, pictures and drawings of encouragement, support and appreciation for our front line staff on social media. Be sure to use the tag #HoustonWeCan so our Heroes see your message!
