Dr. Sinha completed his MBBS in 2000 from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, the premier medical school in India. After finishing his degree, he completed his residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College in Valhalla in 2004. He then completed a three-year fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at New York Medical College in 2012. Subsequently, he received training from the lung transplant division at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 2013. That same year, he joined the lung transplant division at Houston Methodist Hospital as a transplant pulmonologist. He also holds a faculty appointment as an assistant professor of clinical medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College.

His clinical expertise is in advanced lung diseases, lung transplantation, pulmonary hypertension and interventional pulmonary procedures. His major research interests in this field are in pulmonary hypertension, physiology of transplanted lungs and posttransplant critical care.
