Dr. Houssam Younes is a vascular surgeon highly trained in new minimally invasive endovascular surgery technologies including image-guided and catheter based therapies, and traditional open surgery techniques. He completed his surgical training at Baylor College of Medicine and The University of Texas Medical Branch where he held significant leadership roles and was awarded the Golden Scalpel and the Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award recognizing his outstanding and exemplary residency. He most recently completed his vascular surgery training with the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center. He brings Texas Medical Center expertise together with state-of-the-art facilities at Houston Methodist West Hospital to provide the best possible treatment capabilities to patients in the West Houston and Katy communities.
Dr. Younes’ clinical interest is in complex endovascular therapies and hybrid approaches which extend the range of vascular diseases treated and expand the patient population which will benefit from minimally invasive surgery. His research interests include limb salvage, dialysis access and endovascular surgery outcomes. He has presented multiple national presentations and has authored numerous published articles.
His knowledge and proficiency in vascular surgery is recognized by receipt of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery Peter Samuel’s Award, the Allastair Karmody Finalist Award and the Texas Society for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Fellow Award.
