Dr. Eric Haas completed his Colon and Rectal Surgery training at the University of Texas affiliated hospitals. After training, Dr. Haas founded Colorectal Surgical Associates in Houston, Texas. Dr. Haas currently serves as the Division Chief of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital. He is also the head of the Minimally Invasive Colorectal Surgery fellowship program at the University of Texas at Houston.
Dr. Haas' practice focuses on advanced laparoscopic approaches for benign and malignant colorectal disease. Dr. Haas is also dedicated to clinical research, with work focused on optimizing patient and financial outcomes, surgical education, and applying quality metrics to surgical care.
Dr. Haas is a board-certified colorectal surgeon, a fellow of American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and a diplomat of the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and American Board of Surgery. He chairs and serves on committees developing standards and new technologies for the Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and the Fellowship Council. Dr. Haas resides in Houston with his wife and four children.
