Wave Treatment Favored in Comparison to PUL for Enlarged Prostate

March 5, 2021

A study by Ricardo Gonzalez, MD, and colleagues at Houston Methodist and Boston Scientifics compared two minimally-invasive treatments for men with enlarged prostates and showed that convective water vapor thermal energy therapy (WAVE) offered better flow rate and longer treatment durability than a prostatic urethral lift (PUL). The study synthesized data from existing randomized controlled studies that evaluated the two procedures compared to surgery.
