As a separate 501(c)3 organization, the Foundation is governed by a board of directors and led by President and CEO Flynn A. Andrizzi, PhD.

Flynn A. Andrizzi, PhD | President and CEO
Flynn brings more than three decades of philanthropic leadership to the Houston Methodist Hospital Foundation, where he became president and CEO in January 2024. Previously, he served for nearly 14 years as president of the Hoag Hospital Foundation, leading efforts to significantly elevate annual philanthropic support and heading the institution’s first comprehensive campaign.
A Truman Scholar and recipient of multiple fundraising and academic honors, Flynn has served on the board of directors of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and is a regular presenter at national conferences. He holds a PhD in Educational Leadership & Policy from the University of Utah.
Adam Gafke, CFRE | Senior Foundation Chief Operations Officer
Adam joined the Houston Methodist Hospital Foundation in April 2026 and oversees operational strategy, donor relations and stewardship, and governance functions in partnership with the Foundation president and CEO.
With more than two decades of experience in academic healthcare and higher education philanthropy, he most recently played a key role in the Hoag Hospital Foundation’s growth, helping expand annual fundraising and supporting a record‑setting comprehensive campaign. At Houston Methodist, his work strengthens the systems and teams that enable philanthropic investment to advance the academic medical center’s mission.
Michelle Oster | Senior Chief Development Officer
Michelle leads the vision, strategy and execution of all fundraising programs at the Houston Methodist Hospital Foundation, working closely with the Foundation president and CEO as well as hospital leadership.
With deep experience in academic medicine philanthropy, Michelle previously held senior leadership roles for Wisconsin Medicine at the Wisconsin Foundation & Alumni Association, where she helped lead a medical campaign to strengthen development programs, training and operations. Today, her leadership advances transformational philanthropy in support of patient care, research and education across the Houston Methodist system.
