The Neuro Ophthalmology Fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas is accredited through the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology.  This joint neuro-ophthalmology fellowship with Houston Methodist and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is designed to train academic ophthalmologists who are interested in full time careers in neuro-ophthalmology. Our distinguished program accepts two fellows per year and typically recruits one neurologist and one ophthalmologist.

Our fellows divide their time among three academic faculty: Andrew Lee, MD and Peter Mortensen, MD from Houston Methodist Hospital and Nagham Al-Zubidi, MD from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Rotating medical students have largely been from University of Texas, Houston, University of Texas Medical Branch, Baylor College of Medicine and Texas A&M University. We host didactic morning report each weekday; weekly ophthalmology grand rounds; quarterly journal club; and twice monthly neuroradiology conference.
