Residency & Fellowship
We have a strong commitment to training the next generation of neurosurgeons. Our outstanding neurosurgery residency program provides training in the highest standards of care, which is integrated throughout our top-level research and leading-edge technology. The large volume of cases make our residents outstanding surgeons. In addition, we offer neurocritical care and neurosurgical spine fellowship programs.
Neurosurgery Residency Program
A seven-year residency program in neurosurgery provides extensive exposure to advanced operative techniques, neurophysiology, neuropathology and neuroradiology. The program includes a full year of protected research time and eight months of focused subspecialty exposure in preparation for careers in research or clinical practice.
Neurocritical Care Fellowship
The USN accredited Neurocritical Care Fellowship Program consists of two tracks: Track 1 is for fellows with prior training in Neurosurgery and is 12 months in duration, and Track 2 is for fellows with prior training in neurology, internal medicine, emergency medicine or anesthesia and is 24 months in duration.
Neurosurgical Spine Fellowship
The Neurosurgical Spine Fellowship is a non-ACGME, Texas Medical Board (TMB) accredited training program. Applicants must have completed Neurosurgery residency training in an accredited ACGME program prior to the start of the fellowship.
