Observerships

*** Please note, we do not have a formal observership program. The first step in the process is for the applicant to identify a Cardiology faculty that will sponsor them for an observership.
We DO NOT provide information about faculty or contact information for faculty. ***

The Department of Cardiology allows domestic and international visitors to come through clinical and research areas in compliance with rules and regulations promulgated by the Institute for Academic Medicine.

Standards and requirements determined by The Joint Commission and Houston Methodist Hospital establish the process for accepting learners from non-Houston Methodist training programs for a clinical experience at Houston Methodist Hospital. An observership is a voluntary experience without patient contact that does not constitute medical education, graduate medical education, continuing medical education, or training leading to licensure or board certification.

Completed applications must be submitted online via MERLIN at least 8 weeks in advance of the desired start date. *Application fees may apply.
