About the Program Director

Imad Hussain, MD is the program director for the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship program at Houston Methodist Hospital.


Dr. Hussain is a cardiologist specializing in heart failure and cardiac transplantation. He is the program director for the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship program at Houston Methodist Hospital and previously served as the associate program director for three years.  He is also the director of the CV block for the EnMed Program at the Texas A&M Medical School.  Dr. Hussain has been the recipient of the Exemplary Service and Commitment award for 2018-2020 at Houston Methodist. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology.

 

Dr. Hussain received his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Aga Khan University in Pakistan where he ranked as a top student at 15% of his class. Dr. Hussain completed his residency in internal medicine at Emory University College of Medicine prior to his cardiology training at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.
