Program Overview

The LAPPE program consists of 4 consecutive rotations at Houston Methodist Hospital: three required rotations and one elective (Texas R2-R5)
  • Advanced hospital operations (Texas R2)
  • Medication safety, pharmacy administration, or drug information (Texas R3 or R4)
  • Internal medicine, critical care, or cardiology (Texas R3 or R4)
  • Elective (Texas R5) – Choose from one of the following:
    • Infectious disease, solid organ transplant, oncology, neurology, critical care (medical, surgical, neurological, or cardiovascular), internal medicine, cardiology, emergency medicine

Longitudinal Experiences
  • Research project to be presented at a national meeting or regional meeting
  • Monograph, medication use evaluation, journal clubs, topic discussions, formal presentations, professional development series, or other projects may be assigned

  • Select a clinical pharmacist or PGY2 resident as a mentor
  • Professional development series (e.g., Midyear preparation, mock interviews, CV reviews, etc.)
